Previously on display at Halle Saint Pierre in Paris, France as part of the HEY! Exhibition

I created this piece with my Grandmother, Frankie, in mind.. as she will not accept a response to any question she might ask without first consulting a man.

An example:

Grandmother: "I haven't been able to figure out how to replace the batteries in the Smoke detector alarm, can you help me?"

Me or any woman: "The smoke detector's label states that it does not take batteries and must be replaced when it dies"

Grandmother: "Let's just call Joe that lives 2 houses down, he will know"

Joe that lives 2 houses down that we barely know: "The smoke detector's label states that it does not take batteries and must be replaced when it dies"

Beeswax, oil paint, gold leaf.
