Hand carved wax relief sculpture featuring a great sadness. Hand painted in oil paints with gold leaf teary accents. Her ruffled collar is made of thin sheets of pink and butter yellow tinted wax. The sculpture was cast in beeswax in a mold taken from a sculpture originally rendered in clay. The sculpture rests on a black velvet background. All of my framed relief sculptures feature a convex glass covering to protect from dust. The convex glass also creates a beautiful specimen or diorama look which I prefer. The vintage ornate frame is metal measuring a large 16 inches x 11.5 inches.
